The Consequences Of Our Lack Of Commitment.
King Saul went into battle against the Philistines. The sad thing is, he was not connected to the Lord God therefore God said the Israelites would be defeated in battle and that David would become king in his place. And even more sad, because of Saul’s disobedience to God, many of his men died in battle including his three sons and armor bearer.
There are consequences when we are not connected to Christ. We often feel, it’s not a big deal. Our lack of commitment doesn’t hurt anyone. But it does. One’s children suffer just as Saul’s three sons suffered. I see it all the time. Parents lack of commitment breeds a lack of commitment within their children.
How are you promoting Christ in your family? How are you promoting spiritual development? How important is Sunday school and church, and promoting fellowship with other believers? How important is teaching your children to read the bible? How do you take real life situations and make a spiritual lesson out of it? How is prayer promoted with your children?
