1st Samuel Chapter 23
I’m Surrounded!!!
David goes and delivers the city of Keilah in Judah from the Philistines. In the meantime, Saul is on his way with his men to capture David. So David and his 600 men escape to the wilderness of Maon. A man tells Saul where they are so they begin to surround a large mountain in order to capture David.
If you were watching this on TV, you would quickly draw the conclusion that there was no way David and his men could escape. But at just the right time, a messenger comes to Saul and says their land is being attacked by the Philistines. As a result they had to leave their pursuit of David. Therefore, David and his men were able to flee to a new area. There was hope, they just didn’t see it. They had to persevere and trust God.
I don’t know what you’re going through today, just don’t give up. Persevere! Keep fighting! Trust God for there is HOPE. Psalms 3:6 says, “I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.”
Share your heart with the Lord daily and share your heart with a Christian friend who can pray for you.
You never know when God will intervene just don’t give up, there’s always Hope!
