1st Samuel Chapter 17
Who Or What Is Your Goliath?
The Philistines and the Israelites were on opposite sides of a valley facing each other for a coming battle.
Goliath, the Philistine, was over 9 ft tall and taunted the Israelites everyday for 40 days challenging them to send out someone to fight him. Whoever lost the opposing army would have to serve the winning army.
David was sent to check on his three brothers who were fighting for the Israelites. While there he heard Goliath mocking Israel and their God. This infuriated David and he said he would go against Goliath. As David approached Goliath, he was ridiculed by Goliath. David spoke in faith that today God would deliver Goliath into their hands, both him and his army. And with one stone from his slingshot, David struck Goliath down and cut off his head in Victory. Then the Israelites ran towards the Philistines and defeated them.
What is your giant? What looks impossible to you? Take a stand today and proclaim by faith, as David did, a victory over the impossible in the name of the Lord God. For nothing is impossible for God. Daily speak by faith a victory over your giant and trust God to intervene in his timing for that victory.
