1st Samuel Chapter 14
Jesus + Vision + Courage = Lives Impacted
King Saul’s son, Jonathan, was a man of great faith and vision. He knew God would deliver the Philistines into the hands of the Israelites. He had a vision. So by faith, he and his armor bearer approached a number of the Philistine troops. God was with Jonathan and when the Philistines saw Jonathan approaching they were ready to kill him. But with boldness and courage, Jonathan begin to kill one soldier after another. Then God caused an earthquake to fall upon the land and a great fear and confusion fell upon the Philistines. The rest of the Israelites saw what was happening and they also attacked resulting into a great victory over the Philistines.
We all need to be more like Jonathan: people of faith and people of vision. Proverbs 29:18 says where there is no vision people perish because of making stupid decisions.
We all need a vision to take Jesus to a group of people. Like Jonathan, let a student or students say, “Let’s take our school for Jesus,” and then go with the love of Christ and impact lives at the school. As adults we need to have a vision to take Jesus to our workplace. Let boldness and courage override fear so our coworkers see Jesus in and through our lives so their lives are impacted for the Lord.
May the church have that same heart attitude so lives in our neighborhood or city can meet Jesus.
Seek God’s vision then let him make you courageous in carrying out that vision. What group of people is God calling you to?
