What Would You Ask Of The Lord?
As the new king, Solomon walked in the ways of the Lord as his father David did. God found favor on him and asked Solomon what he would want the Lord to give him. God was amazed at his answer because Solomon didn’t ask for money, long life, or victory over his enemies. Instead he asked for an understanding heart and wisdom in order to judge the people of Israel because he was still yet a child with limited insight in life.
So God gave him great wisdom to judge the people. The nation was amazed at his wisdom and knew that it was from God and they feared Solomon with a respectful fear.
2 THOUGHTS:
1) If God was to ask you what you want in life, what would you say? Would your answer be for your benefit or for the benefit of the Lord?
2) Amazing how God works when I ask for his intervention. For example, when I speak, I know God has given me speaking as a gift therefore I have to rely on him. I’m amazed over and over again how he’ll give me wisdom and insight on a message that inspires others. I just spoke at the Corry CMA Academy to the children and I prayed for God’s message. The topic I spoke on was OBEY and wouldn’t you know, that was the theme that week for the students at school.
I challenged the kids that when they went home to immediately do a responsibility around the house without being asked. A mother sent me a Facebook message stating their son came home and cleaned up his mess in the bathroom. When she asked why he was doing that he said because he was challenged at chapel. She said Thank you for what you are doing because it’s touching kids lives.
What’s the number one thing you can pray for that would benefit the Lord and inspire others?
