God Is In Control!
God’s plan was for Solomon, King David’s son, to be King in King David’s place who was getting very old.
Adonijah, King David’s other son decided he would be king instead. He went through all the preliminary steps to ensure he was recognized as the new king. Even though he went behind King David’s back. Circumstances looked like God’s plan would be thwarted.
Circumstances greatly concerned the supporters of Solomon and so they went to King David and told him what was going on. So King David had Solomon, along with the support of the city and all his servants, to parade him in the city as the new king, he was then anointed in front of everyone as the new king, and then placed on the throne as the new king for all to see.
As a result, Adonijah’s plans were thwarted. And great fear came upon Adonijah and his supporters and they returned to their homes, including Adonijah.
So God’s plan for Solomon to be king, even though circumstances made it look like it wouldn’t happen, were overcome because God is in control.
Your life circumstances may look very bleak, as if God is nowhere in sight, but keep the faith and keep persevering because God who is in control is able to rise above your circumstances. Trust him!
