3 John also has only one chapter.
The writer of this book sent a letter to a dear friend whom he loves.
There are two parts of this letter I want to focus on.
1. His expression of LOVE for his friend.
2. He ENCOURAGES and CHALLENGES his friend.
Here are examples of each:
1. Expression of Love:
– he’s overjoyed by his friend walking and living in the truth.
2. Encouragement/Challenge:
– he challenges his friend to encourage the people of the church as they go out to share the truth.
CHALLENGE FOR US:
I challenge each of us to write a letter, a text, or send a message to someone we love and appreciate. In that letter express your love by complimenting them and also include in the letter an encouragement or challenge.
