1 Samuel Chapter 26
Here We Go Again!
Once again Saul hears where David is residing in the wilderness and takes 3,000 men to hunt him down. But God finds favor with David and allows him and one of his men to go into Saul’s camp at night and take Saul’s spear and water jug next to his head. In the morning David calls out to Saul’s guards telling how they did a terrible job protecting their King. When Saul realized David had his spear and water jug he confessed his sins to David and declared him as the righteous one. Saul said he would never seek to kill him again and they parted ways. But David knew Saul could not be trusted with his emotions and fled to a new area.
As we read through 1st Samuel, we see how Saul is not able to control his desires to kill David.
We all have our struggles. It could be sexual sins or thoughts, different addictions, anger issues, selfishness, lusts, lying, control, stealing, gossiping, etc. We may even say over and over again, I’m not going to do this anymore. But end up doing it again. This is a reminder to me that we need the Lord’s power and we need the accountability of our Christian friends. Let the Lord help you and get the help you need from your accountability partner or from a professional, if need be, to ensure you get victory over sin in your lives. Lord help me to be faithful in all things and in all areas of my life.
