1 Samuel Chapter 11
Come Together As One.
The Ammonites besieged the city of Jabesh of Israel and is going to have them be their slaves and plan to gouge out the right eye of each person. So messengers of Jabesh went out to all Israel telling them of their problem and when Saul heard this, the Holy Spirit fell upon him and he became angry and demanded that all Israel and Judah join together as one team to fight against the Ammonites. 330,000 men came together. As a result, the Ammonites were defeated. The people of Israel and Judah rejoiced for their deliverance that came through Saul and they held a formal gathering to crown Him king over Israel.
Some things that jumped out to me on this chapter are:
1. If someone has a problem we should respond.
2. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you on how to handle the situation.
3. The Holy Spirit can accomplish a lot when we join together as one.
4. When God intervenes may we never forget to rejoice and give thanks.
Are you facing a problem? Don’t go alone, instead swallow your pride. This is an opportunity for the body of Christ to come together and for God’s name to be glorified.
