1 Peter Chapter 5
I’ll Do It If I Have To!
In this chapter, the people of the church are suffering, and God is calling those who are veterans of the faith (elders) to be God’s shepherds of the people in the church. They’re instructed to watch over them, not because they have to but because they are so very willing to. They are to do so with a servant’s heart meaning one who is willing to give of themselves to help others in the church with their needs and with spiritual growth.
Those who are younger in the faith, are to humbly submit to the elders or those veterans of the faith.
1. Are you willing to feed truth into the life of someone who needs encouraging in their faith walk? Pray to God who that person is for you to encourage and mentor with.
2. Are you willing to submit to those who are veterans of the faith in Christ?
What are you willing to do in order to be fed from those over you in faith?
I pray you seriously seek God regarding these two thoughts.
