I Can’t Wait to Suffer for Jesus!
This chapter says that Jesus was willing to suffer for us. Are we willing to suffer for him? And if so, with what attitude are we willing to suffer?
It says if we are willing to suffer for Christ then it means we’re done wanting to live in sin because we would rather live according to the will of God.
Before Christ we lived for the lusts of this world. With Christ, we should no longer desire these lusts but now desire living a life that is Holy and Pure before our God. When we choose to do this, then don’t expect your old friends to be surprised by your actions. And don’t be surprised if they heap abuse on you. In fact, be willing to suffer for Christ. Don’t act as if it shouldn’t be happening to you. Rather, rejoice when you suffer for Christ and know that you’ll then be overjoyed when you receive your heavenly reward.
Do not be ashamed to suffer for Jesus. In fact, during our time of suffering may we learn to be:
1. A person who prays.
2. A person who loves others deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins. And
3. A person who uses our gifts to serve others.
CHALLENGE: In other words, don’t let suffering alter your prayer life, your love for others, and may it definitely not prevent us from using our gifts to serve others.
