Persecution Because of the TRUTH!
Peter writes a letter to many Christians who, because are being persecuted, have fled and scattered themselves amongst different regions.
Peter says in his letter that they suffer because of their faith but such suffering proves whether or not their faith is genuine. It’s easy for us to say, “I have faith!” But when trials come, do I give up or do I persevere through the trials while suffering for Jesus?
Peter calls the Christians to be obedient to God’s Word by being Holy because God is Holy. And his Spirit will help us be Holy through our obedience to God’s TRUTH.
Evidence of our obedience to the TRUTH will result into a sincere love for one another. God’s TRUTH never changes. Our world, our culture, our society, our friends, and even our churches will present truths for us to follow but if it’s not God’s TRUTH, then it’s a false truth.
CHALLENGE: Don’t let the world define what is right and true, but instead invest one’s life into the Word of God for verse 25 says, “the Word of the Lord endures forever.” So keep investing in the Word of God through reading, studying, and obedience.
