Don’t Turn Your Hearts Away From The Lord!
King Jeroboam was serving other gods and making sacrifices to them. God sent a prophet to rebuke Jeroboam. When Jeroboam responded with hatredness, God caused his one hand to dry up. King Jeroboam was distraught and begged for the prophet to pray that God would restore it. And God did restore his hand. However, King Jeroboam continued to live in sin and worship other gods. He did not repent.
Does that sound like us. Is there an area of sin that we struggle with? Does your heart ignore God’s speaking to you? Ignoring the Spirit’s nudge for repentance is a dangerous place to be. God help me and God help us if that’s our heart.
Or do we repent, only to return to the sin later? To this individual I say have an accountability partner help you stay focused on the Lord and away from the temptations. God wants to give us victory over sin.
God loves you and is willing to help you, through his Spirit, to be an overcomer of sin. Don’t turn your hearts away from the Lord!
