1 Corinthians Chapter 7
I CAN’T CONTROL MY DESIRE FOR SEX!

The people in Corinth were under the understanding that Christians were not to be having sex with each other. So Paul defined boundary lines that are acceptable and not acceptable. Sexual immorality was a huge issue because people did not have self-control.
Having sex outside of marriage is a No No.
Sex within marriage is acceptable. In fact Paul says the husband and wife should fulfill the desires for sexual relations with each other. But be careful, lest you feel you can demand your spouse to fulfill your desires for having sex. Love and respect for your spouse must still exist so that “demanding” is not occurring. I’ve seen this in relations and the wife felt she needed to give in to her husband’s wishes for sex because her husband had anger issues. Her heart was not in it and she felt abused versus loved. Verse 4 states that each spouse is to yield there authority over their own bodies to the other spouse, as if to be saying, that the sexual needs are to be taken care of but it should not be happening without mutual love and respect. Mutual love and respect should be a natural part of your life especially toward your spouse. Then when there’s a desire for sex it becomes an invitation that is more inviting!
But if mutual love and respect is not a natural part of your life, then when there is the desire for having sex, you’ve already planted a seed of resistance from your spouse.
So husbands, treat your wife with utmost love and respect. And wives, treat your husband with utmost love and respect. And both husbands and wives, maintain an open communication about your sexual commitment to each other so that it can be enjoyed to the fullest.
