I’d Rather Be A Fool For God.
Once again Paul compares God’s wisdom with man’s wisdom. God’s wisdom is found on the foundation of love, which was demonstrated through his son Jesus who died for the forgiveness of our sins so we could be with him forever in heaven. God’s wisdom always points to Jesus and who he is and who we can become. But you can’t understand this wisdom unless the Holy Spirit reveals it to you.
The world’s wisdom is contrary to God and it focuses on selfishness or trying to be a good person. We are always bombarded with human wisdom. So we get to choose: God’s wisdom which is demonstrated by God’s power through Jesus or human wisdom which claims there is no Jesus. We can only begin to understand the thoughts of God as we pursue him through the Holy Spirit and His Word. James 1:5 says that if any of us lacks wisdom we should ask God who gives to all freely.
To those who refuse to seek the wisdom of God, are those who see God’s love, power, and salvation as foolishness.
I kind of said this yesterday: I’d rather be a “fool” for God on Earth than be humanly wise resulting in a life lost and separated from God forever in hell.
