1 Corinthians Chapter 16
Are You Open For Some Advice?
Paul calls the believers to set aside money each week that can be used to further the kingdom. Are we more apt to set aside money so we can buy the newest neatest thing on the market? Or are we more apt to set aside money each week for the church?
Paul encourages the Corinthians with some advice:
1. Be on guard because Satan is always trying to destroy, discourage, and kill our faith.
2. Instead, Paul says, Stand firm in the faith so you’re not easily led astray.
3. Be courageous and step outside your comfort zone and let God use you as he desires. In fact,
4. Be strong so you don’t squirmish away in shame or embarrassment because of the Gospel. Remember, what we have to share brings eternal life for every lost soul.
5. And do everything in love because people will be more apt to respond to what you do and say if it’s done in love. If you show condemnation at all, it will only make people feel less valuable and it will be hypocritical on our end. That’s how the Pharisees treated people: no mercy and no love. But they showed lots of condemnation and pride.
