I Wish I Was Like Somebody Else!
In this chapter we see where army commanders, officers, and overseers were assigned different tasks based upon their given gifts.
As I think of how each of us are gifted, and how God has a plan for each of our lives, I sometimes find myself jealous of how some people are so gifted in areas I’m so ignorant in. For example, I have limited knowledge on how to fix vehicles. I can change the oil but don’t know how to put on brakes or change tie rods.
The sad thing is, if we focus more on the gifts we don’t have, we lose focus on the gifts we do have. Once we lose focus of our gifts, then we end up not using our gifts. That’s where the devil wants us. So whatever gifts you have, use them to the fullest for the Lord and quit trying to be like somebody else. It’s not wrong to learn new things but don’t let it prevent you from using your gifts to the fullest.
May we all learn to be thankful for the gifts we have and rejoice in those gifts. Let us learn to rejoice over the gifts of others as well.
