Staying Holy Is A Lot Of Work!
In this chapter we get a genealogy of the Levites who are the spiritual leaders for israel. There are 38,000 Levites when Solomon became king and each had a job to take care of the responsibilities within the House of the Lord. Everything they did would lift up the name of the Lord and they kept busy in keeping things holy within the house of the Lord.
As followers of Christ, we all have duties to carry out for the Lord in order to lift his name up versus our own name. Plus, God calls us to be holy. The Levites were busy keeping things holy within the House of God. It was a continual job. For us to be holy is a continual ongoing process. It’s hard work! God, through his Holy Spirit, helps us to be holy and we are to be holy in all areas of our lives. Forgive us Lord when we fail and help us have victory in our lives in overcoming evil and temptations. Lord help us with our thought life in controlling our emotions and our speech when around others. Help our lives reflect you in helping point people to the Lord versus trying to fit in by compromising our faith.
